Color Resist Birthday

Hello and welcome back to my blog!  Today I'm going to show you a tutorial on how to make a color resist card.  Keep in mind that all cards I show here on the blog can be used for any occasion!  Enjoy this affiliate free post!
It all started when I went to a free make and take at my favorite local scrapbook store Scrappin in the City.  We made a color resist card using preprinted cards by a company (I cant remember which one).  So I decided that I would make color resist birthday cards.  I wanted to do a female color palate and a male one too.  First I picked out a background color.  I decided on kraft.  I cut that to size using my Fiskars trimmer.

Then I could cut my water color paper to size.  Any heavy weight paper will do but I found this kind at Tuesday Morning for a steal!

After that I got out my VersaMark embossing ink, clear embossing powder, and my embossing tray.  I stamped my images and placed the paper in my tray, poured the powder over them and then repeated for each card.

Then I took my heat gun and applied it to the paper moving to around slowly as not to burn my paper.  You can totally but the paper.  Trust me I know from experience!

Next I selected the colors I wanted to use for my background.  I got out my craft mat, acrylic block, water pen and my mister.

It was time to apply the color.  I used my acrylic block and stamped the pads onto it in various places.  Than I spritzed it all over.  Next I laid it on my paper so the paper could absorb the color.  I used my water brush to fill in the places that were missed.

After it dried I used miracle tape to attach it to my kraft paper and then my A2 card base.  Then I had a color resist birthday card.  Easy but cute!!!

Thanks so much for dropping by and looking at my card tutorial!  I hope you enjoyed it!  Below you will find a supply list and a plug for my favorite local scrapbook store.  They have many unique papercrafting items the big box stores don't carry including most of the ones I showed here today.  If you like the card but don't want to take the time to make it visit my Etsy shop where you can buy this card and many others!  https://www.etsy.com/shop/IslaBug?ref=search_shop_redirect
