Ok so I'm going to go ahead and confess that I have a serious addiction to Pinterest. Its bad. I'm not going to go into detail you will just have to trust that this is true. Its just too embarrassing to explain. Anyway I'm always on the lookout for a simple birthday card for months such as July where I have 18 cards to make. I found this card on one of my Pinterest harvests. It uses up scraps or small paper pads, BONUS!!! Usually I vary my cards even if I intend to make the same card I found the idea for. But this time I stayed pretty true to what I found on Pinterest. I'll just chalk that up to what an excellent idea the original card maker had.
So first I picked a paper pad that would work for males and females. Then I decided to use craft paper because it would match all the paper I was going to use and make it pop a little. I used my Firskars trimmer to trim up my carstock to size for my card base. Then I pulled paper from my 6x6 pad and trimmed it in random width strips.
Then I laid the strips out on a base to see what size die I needed to select from my nestling dies.
Then I used my Cuddlebug to cut out my white cardstock.
After I cut those I set them aside and assembled my cardstock and paper strips using miracle tape.
Then I got back to my sentiment. I got out my acrylic stamp block, my stamp set, and my memento ink and got to stamping.
It was time to distress my sentiment.
And now it is time to add my twine!
I used a few different colors for variation. Next I attached my sentiment using pop dots to add dimension and to hold the twine in place.
All that was left was to attach the card to the A2 card base and I had a very cute but simple birthday card! I hope you enjoyed this card tutorial! Below you will find a supply list and a plug for my favorite local scrapbook store. The store carries most of the supplies I used for this card and many other unique papercrafting supplies that you can't find at the big box stores. If you like the card but don't want to take the time to make it visit my Etsy shop where you can buy this card and many others! https://www.etsy.com/shop/IslaBug?ref=search_shop_redirect
