Valentines Cards 2016

So these are the cards I made for my husband and daughters for valentines day this year.  I started out with no idea what I was going to do at all.  So I pulled out a bunch of valentines dies, stamps and embellishments and it did not take me long at all to come up with some ideas.
I started out with my lawn fawn heart die cuts.  I cut out a bunch of hearts from red and white paper.
When I was done cutting my red and white hearts out I was left with this piece of red paper.
And I realized that it would be cool to use this negative space piece of paper I had created for a card.  So I trimmed it up and looked for a paper to pair it up with.
And I found one!!!

So i thought it would be even cooler to pop the red paper up a little off the patterned paper.  I attached small pop dots to the back of the red paper.
Then I attached the two pieces of paper.
All that was left was to attach it to the A2 card base and I am done.  One card down and three to go!

So next I started playing with the red and white hearts I had cut out.  I double cut a few and ended up with this effect and loved it!
So I placed a few on a card base and decided it needed something else.  I picked a ribbon and attached miracle tape to the back of it.

Then I attached it to some red cardstock.
After that I added some hearts.
I popped the hearts up with pop dots to add some dimension.  Did I mention I LOVE pop dots???  Well I do!!!!  Next I looked for a sentiment.
I found this stamp set and decided to use it.  My grandmother used to say this all the time to us when we were kids.
I stamped it on some white cardstock using a memento ink pad.  Then I attacked it with, you guessed it, pop dots!  Two cards down and one to go!!!

So i decided to continue with the ribbon theme and since I have tons of ribbon I reached for another one.
I picked red ribbon with xoxoxo in white.  I attached miracle tape to the back of it.  Then i marked out the pattern with washi tape to make sure i had it how i wanted it.   Then I attached it to the card in a tic tac toe pattern.  Then I added red hearts to it.
I want to be clear that I usually do not have this much spur of the moment creativity hit ma all at once but I was all to happy that it did.  I knocked out all three cards in record time.  I know the cards may seem a little simple but sometimes I really enjoy the simplicity in a card.  Hope you liked the cards!  come back soon for another card!

I am not an affiliate of my local scrapbook store but I love it!  It gives me my sanity and I consider it my second home!  So I have to put in a plug for my favorite scrapbook store!  As we all know many of our local scrapbook stores are an endangered species.  So if you happen to be in town or want to order online please do!  There are so many unique products available.  I would truly appreciate you supporting my cropping haven!
